Why employ an interior designer?
Everybody lives in a mostly habitable dwelling, and if the only requirement towards it is that there should be comfortable bed and a large sofa and a Tv in it, then design is somewhat a useless addition. But if this tiny bit is added to a place, the difference cannot be bigger. A bit of a style, colour-coordination and even with the right choice of accessories and a painted wall can work wonders.
What is a planning process like?
First of all, we offer a free initial consultation through the internet via Skype or personally within 50 miles of our location. Wherever the flat or the house is located, it only needs to be seen on the first occasion for an overall design process, for all the rest of the design work is done in front of the computer so we take on projects mainly from the Midlands and sometimes even from abroad as some of the items in the portfolio suggests.
Whether you only have the future building plans on paper or you start from a blank canvas or a place you've just moved into with furniture you'd like to stick to, we are able to help. If you need a complete makeover or just a small facelift and redesign with the existing furniture in mind, we're flexible enough to integrate all your favourite items within the plans. If you are only short of ideas or you need our complete design services, we'll find you an ideal solution.
If you compile a list of everything you're expecting from your future interiors from first impression to small details, we'll do our best to make it work. At least a scaled drawing and some photos are needed for the first consultation, after which we are able to make a rough estimation as to the costs of the whole project in accordance of the size, style and elaborateness of the design you have chosen.
After an agreement is reached, we do a complete site survey (or part of it, depending on the chosen scale of the job) and as a next step we put all the data into a CAD file, build the interiors in virtual 3D, and that's what we're going to work on. During the next 4-5 consultations the plan is evolving right in front of our clients' eyes in 3D, and they are encouraged to comment and are free to suggest any changes they think is still needed.
Once the plan has reached its most desirable shape and nobody wants to add a thing to it, we sit down to make the final renderings with 3D animations. That's the stage where the overall interior design is finalised, the final pictures are similar in accuracy to what you can see in our portfolios.
What next?
When the final renderings are finished, we enter the last phase of the complete design: to process the scaled drawings and the detail drawings of the kitchen, wardrobe, lightings, fixtures, tilings, etc., either of which can be ordered as a separate item. With the complete bundle of documents you'll need to contact a builder who will be responsible for the realisation of the entire project from the first steps of demolition to the installation of the bathroom accessories.
Finished?
Depending on the scale of the job, usually two to three months will elapse between the first steps taken and when you can at last sit back and enjoy the final result. Be patient - it's wotrth it!
